Software Engineer

A cutting-edge biotech company in South San Francisco is building the future of AI-driven drug discovery and is seeking a talented Software Engineer or Senior Software Engineer to help build next-gen molecular data infrastructure. This role is ideal for engineers who want to write meaningful code, tackle high-scale data challenges, and support critical advances in global healthcare.

Role:

As part of the core engineering team, you’ll contribute to building a cloud-native Therapeutic Molecule Registration (TMR) platform—a key part of the company’s “lab-in-the-loop” AI strategy for accelerated drug discovery.

🔬 Collaborate with ML scientists, researchers, and cross-functional teams to develop high-impact tools
💡 Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices to manage molecular and biological data
🧪 Build and maintain chemical registration workflows and data pipelines
🧰 Contribute to platform architecture, testing strategy, and deployment pipelines
🧬 Help unify global molecule registration systems to enable real-time AI iteration at scale

Requirements:

✅ Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
🐍 Strong Python programming skills
☕ Familiarity with Java/Kotlin
🗄️ Experience with SQL databases (especially PostgreSQL)
🌐 Proficient with REST APIs and microservices architecture
🧪 Strong testing and automation practices
☁️ Cloud platform experience (preferably AWS)
🔁 Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and agile development methods
🧠 Bonus: experience in cheminformatics (e.g., RDKit), bioinformatics, Docker/Kubernetes, or scientific software

Senior-level candidates should have 7+ years of experience and a proven track record of leading complex engineering projects.

Software Engineer: $110,200 – $142,500 (California-based)

Senior Software Engineer: $142,500 – $264,700 (California-based)
