Internship Overview:

Field Trip Program (For 3rd-5th Grade Students):
- Description: This program involves outdoor field trips for students in grades 3-5, focusing on water-related topics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching hands-on water science activities for 3rd-5th grade students during field trips.
- Preparing and breaking down field trip materials.
- Data entry from Field Trip Program participants and community action events.
- Location: LCRA’s Wilkerson Center for Colorado River Education/CRA Office, 3625 Lake Austin Blvd, Austin, TX 78703
- Time Commitment: 8:45 am – 1:30 pm, Tuesday to Friday. Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for community outreach and action events.
Mobile River Program (For 7th Grade Students):
- Description: The Mobile River Program brings a water science center on wheels and classroom curriculum to 7th graders in the Texas Colorado River basin.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching hands-on water science activities in 7th-grade science classes.
- Guiding students through the Mobile River Exhibit.
- Data entry from Mobile River participants.
- Occasional assistance with maintenance and upkeep of exhibit issues and classroom models.
- Location: Middle schools throughout Austin. Applicants must have reliable transportation.
- Time Commitment: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Hours vary based on the campus they work with. Interns must be available for 15 hours per week within the given timeframe. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for community outreach events.
Stipend:
- The stipend is dependent on the budget and will be confirmed at the beginning of the internship.
- Fall Semester Stipend: $1,000

Regular Check-Ins: You will have regular one-on-one check-in meetings with your mentor to discuss your progress, address any challenges, and set goals for your personal and professional growth.
Team Collaboration: You'll work closely with a team, including Alliance staff. This collaborative environment encourages knowledge sharing, creativity, and a strong sense of camaraderie.

Expert-Led Training: Our educational programs are designed and delivered by experts in the field of environmental education, water science, and conservation. You'll have the opportunity to learn from these specialists during training sessions.
