About Us

APartnership is a marketing firm specializing in Asian Culture Play – a marketing strategy designed to authentically connect with passionate Asian culture fans in the U.S., a growing, affluent, and highly engaged community. This audience is predominantly Millennial and Gen Z, ethnically diverse, and enthusiastic about entertainment and premium experiences. Asian Culture Play is not just about the what but the how. Our proprietary approach focuses on embedding the brand within the culture and communities, delivering creative content and messaging in spaces they already love and trust for increased influence and persuasion.

Job Description

We are seeking a strategic Creative Director to lead our creative team and drive innovative campaigns built on passion for all things Asian – be it food, K Pop, Asian entertainment like K dramas and movies, manga, language, or Asian social media trends. This is a unique opportunity to lead creative work that blends deep cultural understanding, bold storytelling, and passion-driven marketing strategies across a wide range of platforms.

You are a natural storyteller, an idea generator with a strong creative vision, and a collaborative spirit. You understand that creativity is not one-size-fits-all — that different platforms, audiences, and moments call for different approaches. You're fluent in today’s media landscape and adept at crafting campaigns that work in social, digital, experiential, and traditional media. You think from the channel out. You know how to shape an idea to shine on TikTok, how to connect emotionally on Instagram, and how to build stories that live across multiple touchpoints. You bring marketing knowledge into your creative thinking, ensuring your ideas are not only original, but also relevant and impactful. But most of all, you are passionate about the creative industry and the craft.

You understand the Asian American lived experience and bring that cultural fluency into your creative leadership. You are collaborative, respectful, proactive, and open-minded. We are a small agency built on these principles, so it's important that you live these values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative development of integrated campaigns, from concept through execution, across all platforms and media.
  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of marketing collateral, digital campaigns, and brand initiatives across multiple channels.
  • Provide clear and inspiring creative direction to writers, designers, and freelancers.
  • Collaborate closely with account management and media teams to ensure work is aligned with client objectives and timelines.
  • Bring an audience-first mindset: understand platforms, passion communities, behaviors, and trends to guide channel-specific creative solutions.
  • Champion cultural authenticity in all work, ensuring that creative ideas are rooted in insights and cultural nuances.
  • Guide the creative team with mentorship, feedback, and a strong commitment to craft and innovation.
  • Represent the creative vision of the agency in client meetings, pitches, and presentations.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends in marketing, pop culture, and technology — especially those shaping the Asian American experience.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of creative experience in advertising, marketing, or media; agency experience preferred.
  • Exceptional portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking and creative execution across digital, print, and multimedia platforms.
  • Deep understanding of the American consumer and Asian cultural landscape, both traditional culture and pop culture.
  • Deep understanding of branding, marketing, and multichannel campaign strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and agile, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Passionate, curious, and always looking for new ways to connect with audiences.
  • Experience with multicultural marketing.
  • Bilingual in an Asian language (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) a bonus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, communications, or a related field preferred.

Technical & Software Skills

  • Video Editing & Motion Graphics: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve
  • Graphic Design & Production: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma
  • Audio Editing & Mixing: Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X
  • Social Media Content Tools: CapCut, Descript, and familiarity with social scheduling platforms (Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
  • AI & Emerging Tech: Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools (Runway, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT/Copilot) and an understanding of AI ethics and best practices.
