Teacher Assistant
Position Summary: The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and eager to grow into a teaching role. The Assistant Teacher helps facilitate daily routines, instructional activities, and child supervision while building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Support each child’s learning and development through play-based and structured experiences.
• Supervise children consistently to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Help with classroom setup, organization, and cleaning to maintain a welcoming space.
• Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Follow the Lead Teacher’s guidance and provide feedback on classroom needs.
• Track and complete all required trainings during the 90-day probationary period, sharing progress updates with leadership.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience working with young children, either paid or volunteer.
• Reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic about learning and professional growth.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
