Program Facilitator
Company Description
Philanthropy Kids is a Dallas-based 501(c) nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate and inspire young changemakers through education, leadership, and hands-on philanthropy experiences. Philanthropy Kids administers programs that enable young people to be effective philanthropists prepared to lead in their personal and professional lives. Our programs equip young people with hard and soft skills that "futureproof" them for an evolving workforce — participants in our programs recognize how the individual strengths and interests they possess can guide their future careers and community involvement.
PAVE (Philanthropy in Volunteerism in Education) is a program of Philanthropy Kids. PAVE is a course which teaches middle and high school students about giving back and getting involved. The curriculum generally covers topics of philanthropy, leadership, public communication, and social entrepreneurship as students gain a deeper understanding of what they are good at, what they like to do, and how they can help others in their community. While every PAVE implementation (i.e. “series”) has a consistent structure with lecture-based lessons, hands-on activities, and interactions with guest speakers, each PAVE series is customized with heavy input from school administrators to reflect the needs of the respective student population. The curriculum is designed in-house at Philanthropy Kids and delivered by a PAVE Facilitator trained by Philanthropy Kids.
This is an on-site contract role for a PAVE Facilitator at Philanthropy Kids in Dallas, TX.
Role Description
The PAVE Facilitator serves as the primary instructor and program leader for an implementation of our PAVE course, delivering custom-designed curriculum to middle and high school students (ages 10-18). Each PAVE series has one facilitator who will teach the course and manage all components of the classroom experience over approximately 24 instructional hours. This in-classroom role takes place during the regular school day, where the facilitator "takes over" an existing class period block to deliver the PAVE curriculum.
Our values underpin everything we do. The PAVE Facilitator is expected to consistently demonstrate Philanthropy Kids' core values:
- Leadership: We model effective leadership and empower students to recognize their own leadership potential
- Compassion: We approach our work with empathy and genuine care for student growth and wellbeing
