Performance Management and Quality Improvement Intern

Project Description:   

The Performance Management and Quality Improvement (PM/QI) Team is seeking an intern to develop tools to strengthen the department’s performance management system. The intern will create forms, dashboards, and reports to track and communicate various program data like customer feedback, staffing, funding, and more. Tracking, reporting, and sharing program data in a user-friendly way helps the department make data-driven decisions and continuous improvements. 

 

The project will provide the intern with practical experience in data organization and visualization, while making a meaningful contribution to advancing the department’s performance management and quality improvement efforts. 

  

Goals/Objectives of Project:   

Create standardized forms to collect program information consistently across the department. 

Develop reports and dashboards that display and summarize key performance data (customer feedback, staffing, funding, alignment with plans) in a clear and visually accessible format. 

Organize and embed reports and dashboards onto relevant PM/QI SharePoint sites. 

Develop a communication plan for sharing any new tools and dashboards. 

Create a survey that can be used to gather feedback on ways to improve the various tools/dashboards. 

Identify opportunities to streamline processes for data collection and sharing. 

Build staff capacity by designing tools that can be used and sustained beyond internship. 

  

Required Skills:  

Strong organizational and analytical skills 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

Attention to detail 

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment 

  

Preferred Skills:   

Experience with Power BI and/or other data visualization tools 

Familiarity with survey analysis 

Experience creating dashboards, reports, or forms 

 

Number of students (min/max): 2 

Estimated project duration: (3 months or 6 months) (All projects are 15 hours per week): 3 months
