Sustainability Program Coordinator
Sustainability Program Coordinator Intern
We are the company that started as a student pilot project are now scaling the Climate Action Ambassador Program nationwide. Students use our plug-and-play cellular sensors to find and eliminate energy waste in their own schools, then present real dollar and CO₂ savings to their administration.
We need ambitious, student-obsessed coordinator to own outreach, engagement, and regional growth. Your mission is simple but bold: dramatically increase the number of passionate, high-capacity student leaders who run these projects every semester.
You will be the face and voice of the program to students across entire regions (e.g., California, Texas, Midwest, Southeast, Northeast, etc.). You’ll recruit, motivate, educate, and support them from application to final presentation and beyond.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Own aggressive recruitment targets: grow from 8 groups/semester toward 20–30+ within 4–6 months
- Run high-energy virtual info sessions, campus takeovers, TikTok/Instagram campaigns, club fairs, and email sequences that actually get opened
- Build direct relationships with presidents and officers of environmental clubs, engineering societies, Greek life sustainability chairs, honors programs, and student governments
- Travel selectively (when it makes sense) to speak at regional sustainability conferences, Earth Day events, Powershift-style gatherings, and campus climate weeks
- Host regional “Ambassador Huddles” and peer-learning calls so students teach and inspire each other
- Create bite-sized educational content (workshops, Loom videos, Canva decks) that teach energy waste basics, sensor deployment, data storytelling, and how to pitch facilities directors
- Personally mentor and cheerlead the highest-potential teams so their projects become campus legends
- Track every metric that matters: applications, acceptance rate, completion rate, kWh saved, tons CO₂ avoided, dollars returned to the school
- Continually improve the program based on student feedback and your own observations
Who You Are
- You’ve held real leadership in at least one student organization (president, VP, sustainability chair, event organizer, etc.) and can prove you rallied people around a cause
- You intuitively understand how students think, where they hang out online and offline, and what makes them say “hell yes” to an opportunity
- You have successfully marketed events, campaigns, or initiatives to students and hit or exceeded your goals (show us the numbers and the stories)
- You’re relentlessly positive, ridiculously organized, and comfortable herding cats (i.e., college students on 47 different schedules)
- You can explain technical concepts (HVAC waste, occupancy sensors, CO₂e math) in plain language that excites non-engineers. You will be trained to build industry expertise that took decade to build.
- You’re hungry to speak on panels, keynote at student conferences, and represent the program at national sustainability events
- Bonus if you already have relationships with campus sustainability directors, student activities offices, or national student climate networks
