Camp Counselor

Camp APAC is a unique, high-energy summer camp for adoptees in Alabama, hosted by Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Connections (APAC). We create a fun, supportive week where campers build confidence, community, and lifelong friendships — and we need passionate, positive counselors to help make the magic happen!
What You’ll Do
- Lead and supervise a small group of campers (ages 9–18) throughout daily activities
- Build genuine relationships and encourage campers through a trauma-informed lens
- Support campers during social, emotional, and interpersonal moments
- Participate in high-energy camp programming (swimming, crafts, team challenges, etc.)
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and FUN environment for all
- Work collaboratively with APAC staff and fellow counselors
- Attend mandatory orientation & training (June 15–16)
- Be fully present for the entire camp week (June 16–19)
The Details
- Orientation: June 15–16 (mandatory)
- Camp Dates: Begins afternoon of June 16 and ends Friday, June 19 (mandatory)
- Location: Camp Chandler — Wetumpka, AL (overnight camp; lodging & meals included)
- Pay: $550 for the week + housing and meals
