Digital Specialist

KindWriteStudio Internship

Title: Digital Specialist/Studio Assistant 

Term: Spring 2026 (with possible extension by mutual agreement)

Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)

Format: Primarily remote, with optional in-person opportunities related to events or retreats
 

Are you an aspiring writer, editor, or creative communicator interested in learning how a small, values-driven literary studio operates?

KindWrite Studio is seeking an intern to work with us during the Spring 2026 semester. This internship is designed for someone who is curious, creative, and eager to gain hands-on experience in publishing, digital marketing and the day-to-day workings of a small creative business. 

small honorarium may be provided at the conclusion of the internship as a gesture of appreciation, dependent upon completion of the agreed-upon learning goals.

We support college or university credit where applicable and will provide the appropriate mentorship, guidance and feedback to support the learning goals..

What You’ll Work On 

As part of this learning-focused internship, the intern will gain hands-on experience by assisting with the following activities, with supervision, and feedback provided:

  • Drafting and contributing to social media captions, posts, reels, and short-form videos
  • Assisting with social media scheduling and content planning
  • Drafting and proofreading promotional emails
  • Developing and maintaining systems for organizing and managing photo files, contact lists, and digital assets
  • Preparing for community/membership meetings
  • Assisting with website content updates (formatting, copy, and basic content management)
  • Shadowing or assisting with copyediting and proofreading manuscripts, depending on interest and experience
  • Helping prepare materials for writing retreats, conferences, or literary events


Baseline Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

This internship is a good fit for someone who has some foundational experience in creative writing and/or using digital media for promotional purposes and seeks to build upon it. You do not need to be an expert — but you should be ready to contribute, ask questions and learn.

We’re looking for an intern who:

  • Has strong written communication skills
  • Has some experience with social media, especially Instagram (posts, stories, or reels)
  • Is comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) or similar tools
  • Can organize digital files and information with care and attention to detail
  • Is reliable, responsive, and follows through on tasks
  • Is comfortable working remotely and managing time independently 
     

Experience or interest in creative writing, publishing, editing, or literary communities is strongly preferred.

This internship is best suited to juniors, seniors, or graduate students.

 

About KindWrite Studio

We are a small startup co-founded by two women writers and editors with decades of writing, editing, publishing, teaching and public affairs experience. We started KindWrite to provide support and encouragement to writers who may find themselves unsure about how to take the next step. WIth a focus on craft insight, community building, and validation and encouragement we provide coaching, expert editorial assistance and personalized guidance to help writers prepare their work – fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, book manuscripts – for submission and publication.
