Physician Assistant Cardiology

Job Summary

Job Summary: We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) with experience or strong interest in outpatient cardiology to join a growing ambulatory cardiology practice. This role works closely with cardiologists to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient histories and physical exams

Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia

Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter/event monitors, labs)

Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians

Prescribe medications and manage ongoing therapy per clinical guidelines

Provide patient education regarding disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications

Document all clinical encounters accurately in the EMR

Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services

Support quality initiatives and clinical protocols within the cardiology service line

Qualifications

Required

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Active PA license in [State]

NCCPA certification

Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred

Outpatient cardiology experience (1+ year preferred, but strong new grads considered depending on training)

Experience with EPIC or similar EMR

BLS/ACLS certification
