Middle School Computer Science Teacher

SUMMARY
Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Arizona Elementary Certificate with Computer Science Approved Area

OR

  • Arizona Secondary Certificate with Computer Science Approved Area

OR

  • Arizona Middle Grades Certificate with Computer Science Approved Area

OR

  • Arizona Subject Matter Expert Certificate 6-12 with Computer Science Approved Area
  • Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
  • Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

  • Salary: $47,400 to $54,900 Per Year
  • Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
  • Location:Alice Vail Middle School – Broadway & Craycroft area
  • FTE: 1.0 – 7.5 hours per day
  • Work Calendar: 9.5 month 
  • Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
