Whizara offers student-centered, engaging after-school programs for K–12 learners. We are seeking an energetic and dependable French Instructor to teach a Beginner French class in Newark, CA.
This role is open to a wide range of candidates: college students, recent graduates, bilingual or heritage speakers, and professionals seeking meaningful part-time work.
What You’ll Do
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Teach Beginner French using the structured curriculum provided
- Introduce essential vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar, and simple conversation
- Motivate and guide students to meet learning goals
- Observe student progress and address learning needs as necessary
- Maintain clear communication with school staff, parents, and Whizara
- Keep the classroom organized and conducive to learning
- Work independently and take initiative with classroom management
- Communicate with Whizara through email and phone as needed
Requirements
- Proficiency in French(beginner speakers who can teach basics are welcome)
- Ability to confidently teach French to K–12 students
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience with children preferred but not required
- Patient, friendly, professional, and able to manage a classroom
- Ability to work safely and respectfully with children
