Salary: $20 per hour (based on SAT performance and experience)

About Us:

Inlighten Tutoring is on a mission to unlock the academic potential of students through personalized tutoring and test prep. We specialize in SAT/ACT prep, core subject tutoring, and academic coaching for students in grades 6-12. We believe in fostering curiosity, lifelong learning, and a passion for teaching.

Position Overview:

We are looking for passionate and dedicated tutors to join our growing team! This part-time role is ideal for college students (sophomore level and above) or individuals with a strong academic background who have a desire to teach. This is a great opportunity for aspiring educators, particularly those in education programs or with experience in tutoring.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide 1-on-1 and small group tutoring in SAT/ACT test prep, math (up to pre-calculus), and English (reading, writing, grammar).
  • Assess students' academic progress and tailor lessons to their needs.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Use technology and online resources effectively to enhance student learning.
  • Work collaboratively with students, parents, and the Inlighten Tutoring team.
  • Maintain flexible availability, with priority given to Monday through Thursday sessions.

Who You Are:

  • A quick learner with a strong desire to teach and support student success.
  • Passionate about education and mentoring students.
  • Personable, patient, and able to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using computers for online tutoring.
  • A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in (or graduated from) a college program, preferably in education or a related field.
  • Strong SAT/ACT scores (ideally 1400+) or ability to demonstrate academic proficiency (we require a practice SAT score submission).
  • Comfortable teaching math through pre-calculus and English writing, grammar, and reading comprehension.
  • Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring is a plus.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Flexible part-time hours, primarily Sunday – Friday, with opportunities for additional sessions throughout the week.
  • 1PM to 8PM preferred for future growth opportunities.
