Math and Economics Teaching Assistant

About the Positions  

  • Teaching Assistant: The core responsibilities of teaching assistants (TAs) are tutoring students, assisting with class paperwork, teaching the class as requested by the instructor, assisting with administrative tasks such as note-taking and photocopying, and generally helping to ensure that the class runs smoothly. Additionally, TAs may also supervise evening class sessions. Teaching Assistants that support science classes must assist with class demonstrations, help keep the course’s inventory, and prepare, teach, and clean up after lab sessions. Qualifications: Must have prior teaching or tutoring experience and an educational background in classroom content.

  • Locations: 
    • Johns Hopkins University - Baltimore, MD
    • Ursinus College - Collegeville, PA
    • Dickinson College - Carlisle, PA
    • Skidmore College - Saratoga Springs, NY
    • Loyola Marymount University - Los Angeles, CA
    • UC Santa Cruz - Santa Cruz, CA
  • Dates: Vary by location but generally Session 1 is from mid-late June – Mid July and Session 2 is Mid July to early August. Staff can choose between completing one session or both, but preference is given to those who can work both sessions.
  • Salary: $1,862.47 per 3-week session. Housing and Meals provided
