Manufacturing Estimator
Coating Technology, Inc. (CTI) is a leading provider of precision coating and plating services for the Commercial, Defense, and Aerospace industries. Located in Rochester, NY, we specialize in high‑quality metal finishing processes such as Anodize, Chemical Conversion, Passivation, Electroless Nickel, and more. We are seeking to develop a Manufacturing Estimator/Process Engineer who would like to join our rapidly expanding organization.
Position Overview
As a Manufacturing Estimator/ Process Engineer, you will support quoting requirements, purchase order reviews and order release while working closely with our management team and customers. Enhance our plating and processing operations, support development of new processes and engineering structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing metal finishing quotes for customer RFQ requirements.
- Developing internal engineering support and programs
- Interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and aerospace standards.
- Solve production issues related to plating quality, surface prep, bath performance, and tooling.
- Develop and maintain process documentation: work instructions, process flows, control plans, etc.
- Support NADCAP, ISO, and customer audits with accurate records and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Masking teams to streamline workflow.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives company wide.
- Collect and analyze process data to ensure capability and consistency.
Required Qualifications
- Previous estimating experience in manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft office
- 5+ years of experience in metal finishing, chemical processing, or manufacturing engineering.
- Associates degree in an engineering discipline or chemistry related field.
- Knowledge of MIL/AMS/ASTM metal finishing specs is a plus.
- Experience in NADCAP or aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
