People of Color in Dental is dedicated to connecting individuals of color in the dental industry, providing resources to help them thrive in dentistry and elevate the field.
 

Role Description

This is a remote part time Chief of Staff role at People of Color in Dental. The role is hybrid because candidates in the NYC area preferred as ability to work in person as needed is ideal.

 

You will be our President's right hand, providing administrative support, and oversee our operations. Descriptions below and you will be expected to recruit members to committees. Depending on experience and skillsets Executive Assistant title may more appropriate and pay may be adjusted. The role involves tasks such as providing utilizing analytical skills, conducting research, fundraising, and contributing to marketing strategies. Benefits include entrepreneurship training, visibility as a leader in the industry, and access to exclusive events. Ideal for someone looking to build career experience or make a career transition, e.g. currently an executive assistant, recent grad, etc. Experience in the dental field is a plus. This is a contract position.

 

There is also potential for the role to have cross over with DentalFynd.com, in which case the hours would remain the same with similar responsibilities, and additional compensation would be in the form of equity or shares of the company.
 

Pay is a fixed recurring $335-375 biweekly (depending on experience), ranging between 10-20 hours per week.
 

Responsibilities Include:

Finance

In charge of efforts to fundraise for PoC, brainstorm ideas (e.g. dues)

Engages companies for general sponsorship, raffles, and auction

Programming

In charge of efforts to curate content for PoC members, plan virtual and in person events as well as surveys

Organizes in person and virtual programs / events, surveys, data

Outreach

In charge of efforts to increase awareness of PoC and engage members digitally and in person

Manages social media, mailing list, inbox, website, create fliers, etc

 

Qualifications

Bachelors degree

Passion for racial equity in dentistry

Advocate and or ally for career advancement for minorities

Analytical Skills and Research abilities

Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively

Attention to detail and organizational skills

Marketing knowledge

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work effectively in a virtual team

Fundraising skills a plus

Event planning skills a plus

Experience in the dental industry is a plus
