Middle School Social Studies Teacher
Calvary Christian School is seeking a passionate and engaging Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, geography, and culture while fostering a love for learning in a supportive, faith-based environment.
Position Overview:
The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering a dynamic and comprehensive social studies curriculum to middle school students. This includes creating meaningful learning experiences that develop students’ understanding of historical events, civic responsibility, and global perspectives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field
- Valid California Teaching Credential (Single Subject preferred, but not required depending on experience)
Experience:
- Prior teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred
- Experience working with adolescent students in an educational or mentoring setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging social studies lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Foster critical thinking, discussion, and analytical skills through interactive instruction
- Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports student learning
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school events
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and administration
- Integrate technology to enhance instruction and differentiate learning
- Support students’ social and emotional development

- Actively support and model the values of a Christian, faith-based school environment
- Participate in school community events, meetings, and activities as needed
