Job Summary

 

This role focuses on developing artificial intelligence tools to enhance the efficiency of research mathematicians. Responsibilities include designing and curating datasets, implementing advanced machine learning models, and analyzing the performance and behavior of large language models.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Conduct research in the area of Large Language Models and their application to mathematical research

• Creating and curating novel datasets

• Implementing state‑of‑the‑art machine learning architectures

• Analyzing the outputs and behaviors of large language models (LLMs)

• Meet with research advisors Ben Nye and Luis Garcia Puente for 1 hours daily

• Write results in an article to be submitted for publication

• Prepare a 20-minute presentation of the research conducted over the summer

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Highschool diploma.

• Knowledge of Large Language Models and mathematical proofs at the level of an Advanced Linear Algebra course.

• Experience using core ML python packages (numpy, pytorch, huggingface), optimizing deep neural networks, a broad familiarity with different domains of mathematics (combinatorics, number theory, algebra).
