We are currently seeking qualified and professional interpreters to join our team in the New Haven area.
Position Summary
As an Interpreter, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between individuals with limited English proficiency and English-speaking clients. Assignments may include medical, educational, social services, legal, and community-based settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and impartial interpretation services between two or more parties.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled assignments.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and staff.
- Accurately convey the meaning, tone, and intent of all spoken communication.
- Complete required documentation and assignment reports as needed.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English and at least one other language.
- Previous interpreting experience preferred.
- Professional interpreter training or certification is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the New Haven area.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
