About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Entry-Level IT Help Desk Technician to join our growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals beginning their IT careers to gain hands-on experience supporting end users, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining computer systems in a professional environment.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong problem-solving skills, and enjoys helping others with technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, chat, and in person.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and basic network connectivity issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
- Set up user accounts, reset passwords, and manage basic Active Directory tasks.
- Install and update operating systems and business applications.
- Document support requests, resolutions, and system changes in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
- Assist with workstation deployments, equipment inventory, and IT asset management.
- Maintain excellent customer service while meeting response and resolution goals.
- Follow company IT policies, security standards, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related technical field.
- 0–1 year of IT support experience (internships, lab experience, or relevant coursework are encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with computer hardware and peripheral devices.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or Zendesk.
- Basic knowledge of remote support tools.
- CompTIA A+ certification or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
