Concert Series Intern
Location: Monterey / Salinas / Carmel, California (Onsite) Employment Type: Part-Time Internship
The Concert Series Intern supports a local non-profit concert presenter with logistics and patron experience for its series of intimate chamber music concerts held in non-traditional settings. This role is hands-on and event-focused, perfect for someone who loves live music and wants real experience in arts administration and event operations.
What you'll do
- Help set up the concert space before each event, arranging seating, signage, and any equipment needed for the performance and reception - Check in patrons at the door using a guest list and make sure guests have a smooth arrival experience - Handle latecomers with care, minimizing disruption to performers and seated audience members - Assist with reception preparation — setting up food and beverage tables, coordinating with any vendors or volunteers - Clean up and restore the venue after each event, leaving the space in the condition it was found
About you
- Interest in classical or chamber music, the performing arts, or live event production - Comfortable working directly with the public — friendly, calm, and able to problem-solve on the spot - Reliable and physically able to help with setup and breakdown (moving chairs, tables, equipment) - Available to work evenings and weekends when concerts are scheduled - Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or event volunteering is a plus, but not required - must have own transportation
This position offers a close-up look at how a professional chamber music series operates — from the logistics side to patron relations. You'll work alongside experienced arts administrators and musicians in some incredible venues across the Monterey Peninsula
