2024 Intern, Purchasing

Position Summary:

KBR seeks a Summer 2024 Intern looking to gain practical experience in Supply Chain Management.  In this internship, you will assist the Procurement Department in various procurement activities and support supplies and services for government and commercial customers at the best value necessary to meet the required price, quality, quantity, and delivery schedules. You will assist in defining business solutions that enable KBR to execute its contractual commitments while forging impactful relationships with internal stakeholders.

 

Position Responsibilities:

In this internship, you will:

  • Work with different types of contract vehicles
  • Gain exposure to KBR’s system applications.
  • Support supplier source selection, subcontract/purchase order placement,

           cost/price analysis, record keeping, negotiations, documentation

           preparation, subcontract/purchase order maintenance, and supplier

           management.

  • Assist in preparing Requests for Proposal/Quotes, analysis and evaluation of proposals, negotiation of subcontract provisions, and ‘cradle to grave’ subcontract/purchase order administration.
  • Gain an understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), Contractor Procurement System Review (CPSR), ISO-9001: 2008, and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business disciplines, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • Due to the nature of KBR’s work and U.S. export regulations, the successful candidate must be a US citizen.
  • Management or comparable Military experience
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and share knowledge.
  • A sense of duty and desire to contribute to Organizational success.
  • Ability to form respectful relationships with customers and colleagues.
